Posner and the “D” Word
Jonathon Rauch offers a nice review in NYT of Judge Posner’s new book “A Failure of Capitalsim” on the causes of the meltdown. The message is one I agree with — we are in a depression (not a recession) and the systemic problems at hand require much more enlightened governance than we have at present. Sadly, the learned Judge apparently offers no great solutions on what that means or how to get it.
