Giving up on Small Films?
This quote from an FC article about kickstarter coaching caught my eye today
… the size of funding will scale up from the current crop of $400,000 productions to movies that cost $25 million, “because the studios have given up on those films.”
The studios have given up on making films that cost less than $25 million? That says quite a bit about how the movie industry works and doesn’t work these days. And with alternative funding sources, it presents an opportunity for non-studio producers.
