Looking for Comfort?

I find it really comforting to think about how life goes on. Renews.
That was the feeling last night over at Domus Dorpatensis where we celebrated its 10th anniversary — and I attended my last council meeting as chair. All went well and we moved on. It helps when you have confidence in the folks whom you see around you.
But there is a bit of confusion about the word “comfort”. We also use the word to mean creature comforts. Warmth, soft fabrics, low stress life styles and so on. Thus “comfort food”. Here we bump into a problem. We may be too comfortable. Our demand for this type of comfort may be over stressing the environment. And this story about the wolf lays out one dimension of the problem.
So can we have one type of comfort without over-indulging in the other? Time will tell.
