Money, IPads and ITunes
This quote by Galen Gruman at InfoWorld jumped out at me
Apple already makes more money from iTunes than its entire iPod lineup.
Right. There is a great game shaping up. The players are coming to the table. They are not yet 100% sure how the game will work. But they know one thing. The game is about the new global entertainment market. ITunes demonstrates one thing about that market. If you can create a platform that dominates an entertainment use, you can make a huge amount of money.
So, tech companies are sniffing around, looking for opportunities to get into the entertainment business. To build a new type of platform that will excite users. Something better than ITunes. Sure they want to sell devices. But they want to sell use even more.
And the losers? Well, let’s just say this. The slower you adapt in this ecology, the more you look like a dinosaur.
