The Dude Is Not In?
I like Mark Oppenheimer’s take on the Coen Bros 1998 film,The Big Lebowski
… above all I loved the movie’s deep unseriousness.

That lack of seriousness touched a chord - the same unserious chord that was touched for me by the 2004 Alexander Payne film Sideways.
This is a chord that doesn’t get touched enough these days. And I agree with Mark that a book that tries to make sense of Lebowski’s “koans” is essentially BS.
So here is my question - why are there so few light hearted unserious movies around these days? I need more!
